Stay calm and book Northwood Pastels

Northwood Pastels is a unique location house in London’s Forest Hill and is one of the unique and inspiring properties available to book for shoots with jj Locations. Anyone with an eye for interior and fashion design will have noticed the re-emergence of dusky blues, pinks and other complimentary colours currently adorning shops, fashion shoots and blogs.

It seems that everywhere you turn odes to trusty, summery pastels for SS17 are springing up. Northwood Pastels is a versatile location, not only lending its support to this latest trend – providing backdrops to this season’s passion for butterflies, mixed patterns and retro floral design – but is also a seasoned provider of an almost beach-house style situation within the handy confines of the m25.

The availability of natural light within the property plays no small role in the property’s ability to make its colour scheme blossom. Its soft blue, serene conservatory in particular has perviously caught the eye of many photographers. A summery day in the house’s alluring annexe make grimy London seem a million miles away!

The property’s spacious and unique conservatory – complete with its own fireplace -leads straight in to the kitchen. There are more white walls here than in the rest of the house; making the cheerful colours that do exist in this space notable. The owner’s vintage kitchen wares are very at home in the space, which makes an ideal backdrop for film or photo shoots that require a halcyon retro feel.

The main living areas on the ground floor offer a cosy open-plan shoot space. The aptly placed vintage wares continue on the ground floor living quarters, but the individual items never overwhelm or detract attention from the calming flow of the property. The original, period features of the property that remain – wooden floors, fireplaces, sizeable bay window – have had any stuffy Victorian sentiments overturned by the property’s transformation to one of our most uplifting spaces. There are a few brighter, bolder colours in the mix here that are brought to life when placed against pastel backdrops.

The property is also a family home, and we promote it as one of our foremost family-orientated location houses to our clients in the film and photographic industry. The children’s bedrooms take the vintage and pastel theme to new heights on the first floor of the property with fun, colourful toys in abundance. Completing the upstairs the master-bedroom is also no exception to the chalky charms of the location.
