“Greenery is nature’s neutral. The more submerged people are in modern life, the greater their innate craving to immerse themselves in the physical beauty and inherent unity of the natural world.” – Pantone
The colour gurus, Pantone, have announced Greenery as their colour of the year, 2017. Symbolic of fresh beginnings, and evocative of Spring, we’re fully behind this nod toward the brighter, warmer and altogether nicer time of year.
With fresh, zesty greens set to be this year’s hottest ticket, these are the locations you’ll want to book to get your fashion story, commercial, TV series, film, event or photoshoot into the limelight…
The fresh, new, jj Exclusive, Talfourd Botanical is the epitome of greenery. The Scandi interior is invigorated with flourishes of foliage, bringing the outside in and creating an oh-so-photogenic and serene space.
Set in 140 acres of Kent parkland, this big n’ beautiful Georgian/Victorian country house is surprisingly colourful. As well as a bright yellow living room, the dining space is a magnificent mint, complete with delicate wall murals.
Elegant brass accents and antique mirrors set this space off perfectly, bringing an unusual twist to the traditional, period decor. The conservatory too is abloom, with luscious camellia trees which, come Summer, explode with vivid pink flowers to complement the leafy greens.
This aptly named, modern, location sits amongst 50 acres of Suffolk wilderness. In contrast to the botanical locations which bring nature indoors, Wilderness places the focus on the view beyond its walls. It’s beautifully designed; large floor-to-ceiling windows coupled with a muted interior frame the outdoors, allowing it to take centre-stage. The green theme flows throughout in varying tones with the occasional pop of orange, pink or purple. A real treat for the eyes.
Another leafy lovely: Clapton Tram. This open plan, ex tram depot, is a far cry from its rugged, industrial past. Sprawling hanging plants, white wooden staircases, vast skylights and stone floors conjure up a greenhouse vibe (albeit a rather tidy greenhouse) where the man-made sits effortlessly alongside the natural.
Marble is having a major moment. Peckham Green combines vast slabs of the stuff with warm, vintage greens and antique fittings, to bring this Victorian location straight in-line with current trends – Perfect for food shoots!
