The unique Grade II Listed Landbeach Tithe Barn may well date to the medieval period. The timber frame, weather boarded sides, timber granary, brick threshing floor and thatched roof of long straw make it highly unusual. Tithe Barns are rare in the UK, with around 90% of them being converted and this is thought to be the only one in its original condition in Cambridgeshire. Originally a rustic farm building, the barn now makes a charming historic venue and is set in a secluded location. Landbeach is a rural village, yet only 5 miles North of Cambridge, conveniently located for the A10 and an easy commute from London. A tarpaulin currently protects the thatched roof, whilst the Tithe Barn Trust, a small charity raises funds to restore this hidden gem.
