2017 marked the launch of our inaugural JJ Foundation, Photography Competition for Young People. It was a huge success, drawing in thousands of images from talented, budding photographers as young as 13.
The aim of the JJ Foundation is to inspire, motivate and nurture young talent – and last year’s finalists and runners-up certainly didn’t fail to deliver. They treated us to a stunning display of their exhibited work at the awards ceremony at JJ Media Group’s studios in Shoreditch, where the prizes included cameras, pro studio days, work experience, editorial publication in Professional Photo Magazine and even offers to buy their images!
2018
So what does 2018 bring to the table? I’m absolutely thrilled to tell you that we are now collaborating and supporting the NSPCC, with one of the winning entries to be published on their official Christmas Card. This, in turn, will give great exposure (pardon the pun) to one lucky photographer. These cards are sold around the world!
We’ve also focussed again (more puns) on industry prizes, enabling young people to get a foot in the door with studio days and work experience, not to mention a pro camera.
We are full of anticipation again this year. Our theme, ‘Dreams and Aspirations” invites photographers to create a positive photograph for the future. Our judges will be looking for original and inspirational imagery across the spectrum: still life/art, portrait, landscape, street & fashion.
So, on behalf of myself and the judges, we wish you good luck. To enter, click here
