JJ Foundation Photography Competition For Young People – The Awards

On Thursday 18th of January, we were extremely thrilled to hold our very first JJ Foundation Photography exhibition, and awards night, to celebrate the incredible level of talent we’ve seen throughout. We welcomed the photographers and judges to share the stories behind their work and their experiences in the creative industry. With the evening’s tickets a sell-out, we were overwhelmed with the amount of support the JJ Foundation has received. You can view the full Winners Gallery here.

JJ Foundation has been set up to inspire, support and motivate young photographers and filmmakers, in the pursuit of their creative goals and careers, with some great prizes up for grabs for the winning submissions. We were proud to announce the winners, and runner-ups, 2 weeks prior to the event. Overall Winner, Robert Spicer’s image ‘Men Do Cry’ has since featured in Professional Photo Magazine, as a double page spread, on the first pages! A fantastic achievement for Spicer at the age of 17!

Showcasing landscape, portrait, still life, fashion and street photography, we saw an incredible level of skill and creative flair from aspiring photographers from as young as 13 years old.

No competition is complete without a talented and knowledgeable judging panel and it was such a pleasure to welcome judges Rick Truscott and Nick Turpin to the stage as they shared wise words with our young photographers and gave an insight into what made the winning images stand out.

We’d like to thank everyone that has been involved throughout our first JJ Foundation Photography Competition for Young People, our judges Nick, Rick and Rob & Nick Carter and Eastside Education Trust for partnering with us. We’d also like to extend a HUGE thank you to everyone that come to show their support for the night. Here’s to the next!

Johnny Jones, founder of JJ Media Group and JJ Foundation add’s  –

‘Thank you to everyone who made the Photography Awards for Young People a huge success. It was an inspiring, sometimes emotional, and may I say rather a proud moment. Well done to all the winners, runners-up and all who entered. Keep up the good work!’
