Here at JJ our team of account handlers are currently dedicated to familiarising themselves with the wealth of unique properties available for shoots with JJ Connect (Film Locations) . From barn conversions to chateaus, loft apartments to Victorian courtrooms, we’ve been delighted to see many property owners connect directly with our clients in the creative industry. If you’re signed up to our newsletter or follow us on social media, you will have heard about JJ Connect’s (Film Locations) ground-breaking debut in the world shoot locations and venue hire. (If you haven’t, here’s a nice little guide to another JJ Journal article about JJ Connect (Film Locations)) .
As we kick-start 2018, I have selected a few initial favourites from different categories that are available NOW to hire for shoots with Connect (Film Locations).
The Venue: ‘The Tea Room @ Bun House’ – Soho, London
Our account handlers have recently received many briefs asking for moody locations with neon elements and mood boards requesting swanky bars. The Team Room @ Bun House does both… and looks very cool in the process. This colourful Soho gem promotes itself as a venue that introduces its guests to ‘a by gone era where East meets West’. Expect to see team JJ dining and drinking here sometime soon… for research purposes of course!

The Modern Muse: ‘Nightingale House’ – Clapham, London
Nightingale House balances a unique, architectural layout whilst remaining a warm and inviting domestic property. A range of textures and generous natural lighting is on display, providing photographers with a choice of backdrop. Check out the ample entrance hall too; plenty of room to swing a camera.

The Studio: ‘Canterbury Crescent’ – Brixton, London
This Brixton-based, friendly lifestyle studio has already attracted attention from photography clients. Photographers appreciate the abundance of natural light available, double height and versatility of the shoot space. Lovely bathroom too.

The Foreigner: ‘Chateau d’Hallines’ – Northern, France
Just a hop-skip-and-jump from Calais is the impressive Chateau d’Hallines. The period property has had some modern elements added to it in recent years, all done to a high standard, complimenting the polished, traditional elements that remain. I was struck by the incredible entrance hall, which is a marbled delight and certainly one of the most impressive staircases in our locations library.

Beaming with delight: a sympathetically renovated chateau. Chateau d’Hallines, Northern France
The Kitchen: ‘Aldwick’ – North London
Substantial north London shoot location Aldwick is the new-kid-on-the-block for Excellence in the Field of Shootable Kitchens. Our account handlers are incredibly geeky about finding spacious kitchens that have lots of light and an island. Throw in a high ceiling, and an exquisite terrace for summer dining into the mix, and you have Aldwick: kitchen du jour!

The Historial: ‘The Old Courthouse’
Those who love period dramas and crime dramas, or indeed the meeting of the two, may well see ‘The Old Courthouse’ pop up in a TV drama in the near future. Scotland’s place within the film & TV industry gained strength recently when it was announced that the region has received the green light for the building of its own film studios . With productions raging from James Bond outings (Check out Visit Scotland’s guide to ‘Skyfall’ locations) to popular TV productions like ‘Outlander’ already under its belt, we’ll look forward to seeing many more productions utilising the country’s inspirational landscapes and architecture in the near future.
