JJ Media are looking for an experienced  full time Equipment Operations Technician wanting to progress their career in the Photographic and Film equipment industry.  Reporting to the General Manager,  we are looking for an exceptional individual to work in a skilled professional environment  to the high standards required by  JJ Media.  


Experience :       Minimum of 3 yrs industry experience, with at least 1 yr in a Senior Operational role.


Work activities include

  • Working alongside the Floor team to ensure equipment is prepped and de-prepped accurately and to a high standard, and all client’s requirements are met . 
  • Oversee and ensure that all jobs and equipment is checked in correctly and is ready to invoice within 24hrs of completion.
  • Ensure that all jobs leave the Warehouse correct and on time, and return in full, and that all equipment is maintained to the highest standard. 
  • Final sign off  outbound equipment jobs including set up of equipment within our studios. 
  • Scheduling of deliveries and collections to minimise the pressure on workforce, and associated transport costs, whilst fulfilling client needs.
  • Delivery and collection of equipment both in our studios and on location, 
  • Fostering an ‘On time is late’ mentality amongst the team, to meet client demands for deliveries and collections.
  • Taking every opportunity to share knowledge and your experience with the team and provide ongoing support and training. Motivate and inspire to generate a positive and dedicated working environment.
  • Efficient management of inventory to maximise utilisation and profitability. Organisation of inbound and outbound third party cross hired equipment. 
  • Remain aware of industry trends and developments, particularly in regard to new products and equipment. 
  • Liaising with all departments across the organisation, effectively communicating vital information to ensure that all shoots run smoothly. 
  • Direct client contact where possible to strengthen existing and build new relationships.

Required Skills and Attributes: 

  • Extensive operational and technical knowledge within the Photographic and Film lighting industry
  • Full and clean driving license – Confident driver with 2 years driving experience essential.  Van driving experience preferable. 
  • Meticulous attention to detail and excellent interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Proven ability to work within a fast paced environment and deal effectively with complex client requests. 
  • A driven, positive and  enthusiastic individual, who is able to work as part of a team to satisfy needs of clients

JJ Media are looking for a full time Equipment Operations Technician wanting to progress their career in the Photographic and Film equipment industry.  We are looking for an individual wanting to gain experience in a professional environment working to the high standards of JJ Media and the industry as a whole. Reporting to the General Manager, and supporting the operational team this is a junior position which offers a great opportunity to learn about all aspects of Lighting within the Film and Photographic industry.  Further ongoing training will be offered as part of the position.


Work activities include


  • Assisting the Operational team in the prepping, check-in and testing of equipment.
  • Maintaining the rental stock and ensuring equipment is presented to the highest possible standards. 
  • Learning and utilising the rental software and barcode system in operation in the warehouse, to ensure maximum utilisation of jj media’s equipment.
  • Delivery and collection of equipment both in our studios and on location, ensuring they are fulfilled in a timely fashion.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the warehouse 
  • General warehouse duties including stock checks and restocking. 
  • Representing JJ Media  in line with the company culture and guidelines, both internally and when dealing with clients.


Required Skills and Attributes: 


  • Enthusiastic and eager to learn.
  • Ability to take direction well, and think on your feet, whilst working in a fast paced environment.
  • A strong team player with excellent interpersonal abilities, willing to help other members to get the job done.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will respond to client enquiries looking for locations for their next photoshoot or film project.

Your core role is to convert enquiries to confirmed location bookings using the jj library, requiring a thorough working knowledge of the library.

You will be expected to deliver a high level of service to both our clients and locations working within a fast-paced, challenging environment and meet monthly booking targets.

22 days Holiday PA

Salary: £30 – 40K plus,  depending entirely on performance in the role.



  • Receive and interpret briefs and present accurate options from our existing database quickly and efficiently.
  • Organisation and management of your workload in order to handle up to 40 enquiries at anyone time.
  • Negotiating rates with clients & locations
  • Organising recce’s of locations
  • Clearly briefing and debriefing owners and clients as to the details of each shoot.
  • Updating and maintaining business operating software accurately with all job information.
  • Building strong and trusted relationships with location owners and clients – going the extra mile for both.
  • Drawing up location contracts
  • When dealing with any enquiry, always looking to Cross sell the additional services and departments of jj Media from Equipment & Studios to Catering.
  • Offering on site support to Studio clients on a rotation basis and using this opportunity to secure new leads for location sales.
  • Working with the General Manager to bring in new business and perform other tasks as required.
  • Adhere to and support the culture and ethos of jj Media.

Reporting to the Studio Manager, members of the Studio Reinstatement Team will work to ensure that all studios are turned and prepped after each and every shoot or Event, and all stock is accounted for accurately. As a Front of House, client facing role, the Studio Reinstatement Team will promote the jj culture and brand both in the studio and when dealing with clients.

• To ensure that Studios and surrounding areas are serviced and maintained to the standards laid down by the company.
• Meeting and assisting clients into and out of the studios.
• Assisting with client requests throughout the day, liaising with all jj departments as necessary.
• Responding to action lists for site repairs, renewals and improvements.
• Managing the get out of all clients form the studios at the end of the day, assisting as necessary.
• To accurately and promptly complete stock and equipment records after each shoot.
• Restocking all fridges and studio consumables as required.
• Leaving every studio ready for the following day’s bookings and Recces.
• Maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness across client, communal and staff areas as set out by the Front of House guidelines, including liaising closely with our cleaners to ensure the studios are correctly cleaned overnight.
• Managing the secure shutdown of the premises in line with company protocol
• Ensuring that personal appearance, uniform and conduct at all times reflect the jj ethos and culture.

• A minimum of 2 years Hospitality or industry relevant experience.
• A strong eye for detail, in regards to both hospitality and in presentation.
• Self-motivated with strong leadership skills and a hands-on attitude. Setting examples in work standards, speed and quality of delivery.

Studio Manager


As Studio Manager you will be responsible for managing one of our two premier Shoreditch studio suites. You will be delivering the highest levels of customer service to our wide range of clients and managing and maintaining the site to the highest of standards.


Responsibilities: Client care

You must be highly customer focussed, have excellent communication skills with a friendly and professional manner and have the ability to manage your team effectively. As Studio Manager your will be the primary point of contact for all clients leading up shoot day and on the days themselves. You will work closely and effectively with the Production Team and Equipment Team in order to ensure all client requirements and expectations are exceeded. This includes identifying staff resourcing on a weekly basis and supervising a rotation of freelance Studio Assistants and ensuring they deliver the high standards expected of them. Working closely with our courtyard to manage deliveries, couriers and shoot logistics and with our Equipment Team to manage their workflow into and out of the studios. 


Responsibilities: Standards and maintenance

• To ensure that Studios and surrounding areas are serviced and maintained to the standards laid down by the company.

• Overseeing, managing and maintaining all on site shoot equipment

• To ensure that all Front of House areas are clean and tidy at all times, including managing the cleaning contract and adherence to our high standards.

• To accurately and promptly complete stock and equipment records after each shoot

• To carry out systematic checks of all Front of House areas for maintenance requirements, repairs or refurbishing, ensuring that these are actioned without delay.


Skills and Aptitudes:

• A minimum of 2 years senior hospitality experience required

• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence decision making at all levels and command respect from all areas of the business.

• The ability to assert expertise and achieve objectives diplomatically. 

• The ability to build an excellent rapport with clients and instil confidence

• Self-motivated with strong leadership skills and a hands-on attitude, setting examples in work standards, speed and quality of delivery.

Working closely with the Senior Studio Producer, this role will be responsible for booking and strategically planning all shoots and Events across jj Studios. 


• A complete overview of all jobs coming through the studios at any time, their progress, impact, and scheduling.

• Ensuring client expectations are met on the day, to include the correct presentation of all spaces and the fulfilment of the services being provided

• Being present across both Studio sites to meet and greet clients, and ensure client expectations are met.

• Supporting the management of the Studio Options where necessary to maximise our occupancy across sites.

• Managing post shoot/event reconciliation, to ensure all ancillary invoices within RMS are accurately completed in a timely manner to maximise studio revenues.

• Hosting Studio Recces with Clients, and possessing a comprehensive knowledge of the technical capabilities of the venues particularly in relation to the Client’s upcoming needs.

Full time Studio Based role.

Salary – £25k pa
